Bridge, gantry, jib and monorail cranes lift heavy loads in plants and warehouses every day. Dropped loads, overloads and poor signalling cause serious injuries.
This course covers crane types and controls, pre-use inspection, estimating load weight, rigging basics, sling angles, hand signals, safe lifting and travel, and lockout for maintenance, based on WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Parts 14 and 15. Your employer must still evaluate you on the specific crane.
