Gama Safety Canada Inc. (“Gama Safety”, “we”) respects your privacy. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored encrypted), and for business accounts your company name.
- Training records: the courses you take, your progress, exam results and certificates.
- Mailing details: your address, so we can mail your wallet card.
- Order details: what you bought and when. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or our forms.
- Website use: pages visited, device and browser information, collected through cookies and similar tools (see below).
How we use it
- To create your account, deliver your courses and issue certificates and wallet cards.
- To process payments, send receipts and handle refunds.
- To let a business account owner see the training progress and certificates of the workers they enrol.
- To confirm a certificate when an employer or inspector asks us to verify it.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To improve our website and courses, and to measure our advertising.
- To meet legal and regulatory requirements (for example, WorkSafeBC asbestos certification for Asbestos Level 1).
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run our services, with providers who must protect it:
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Ads, Translate) and Microsoft Clarity: website analytics, advertising measurement and translation.
- Reviews.io: customer reviews.
- YouTube: course preview videos, when you play them.
- Email and mailing providers: to send receipts, course access and wallet cards.
- Your employer, if they enrolled you through a business account.
- Regulators or authorities, when the law requires it.
Some providers may store information outside Canada, where it may be accessed under the laws of that country.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and understand how visitors use our site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, such as the cart and sign-in, may not work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep training records and certificates for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to confirm your training and meet legal requirements. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords and limited staff access.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw consent to optional uses such as marketing emails. Email info@gamasafety.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
