Class 7 is the forklift classification designed specifically for rough terrain use. Class 7 rough terrain forklifts feature large pneumatic tires (or 4x4 tracks), high ground clearance, and reinforced frames built to handle outdoor construction sites, lumber yards, and unpaved surfaces. Standard warehouse forklifts (Classes 1–5) are not designed for outdoor rough terrain conditions and cannot legally operate on such surfaces under BC OHS Regulation Part 16.
